Get Involved! it's your Big Local

What is Northfleet Big Local?

Northfleet Big Local is a group of residents, supported by socially minded organisations, who are trying to make Northfleet North into the kind of place you want to live, and somewhere we can all be proud of.

In 2011, our area of Northfleet was awarded £1 million of investment over the next ten years. That means we have, roughly, £100,000 a year for the next decade to help projects that will make lasting changes to our area and make it better for everyone. Northfleet Big Local is trying to do just that; by helping residents to find jobs, by building a new playground, by offering free space for new clubs; and by putting back a sense of pride in our area and in our community.

To help decide what we do in the future, and help make real progress, local people need to be involved - you need to be involved. Big Local is made up of your neighbours; of local people just like you, who want to make a difference.

The Northfleet Big Local area stretches from The Leather Bottle pub, all the way to Ebbsfleet Football ground (and everything in-between). If you live, work or volunteer in the area we want to hear from you. "Big Local" is all about helping each other - it's about bringing together all the local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations to make a lasting and sustainable change to our area.

As more and more of our projects get off the ground, you will see changes happening throughout the area - but this is just the beginning. This project lasts for ten years, so we have a long time ahead - and lots of new challenges. It’s really important that you have your voice heard, and that you have a say in the direction Northfleet Big Local should take.

The menu button at the top of the page gives you information on how to get involved, and has links to some of the projects we are supporting.
